NOT THE OLD (from In Enchantment of Eternity)
Images and impressions of the old-man
Stuck in minds prove hard to erase
Friends and family are the last to see
That a new-man has emerged to stay
Unable to separate the new from the old
The blind mistake the reborn for dead
But the new nature differs from the old
Much like a butterfly does from a worm
To lack the spy glass of faith is to view
The new through the prism of the old
Tis inability to savor that which refreshes
But be stuck in the stale and sour of the past
The new-man soon comes to understand
Tis part of the divine plan and purpose
To teach him the patient ways of hope
And about love that never gives up
Valuable lessons about hope and love
Essence of godliness imparted to man
